WWW Wednesday

I know! It’s been so long since I’ve done one of these but it seems I’m back to reading regularly and I have a good flow with my new job. Now that things are settling I hope to get back to posting regularly.

How has everyone been?? I’ve missed the community. ūüôā

What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

Rereading¬†Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets¬†is still on hold. But it’s currently in my bag and I hope to continue with it soon.

I haven’t gotten anywhere with¬†Neanderthal Seeks Human by Penny Reid¬†and I’m debating dropping it because the writing feels entirely too cheesy but I’m going to give it another chance.

Now to what I’m legitimately reading, I have one more short story in My True Love Gave to Me edited by Stephanie Perkins (I am not listing all the authors). The stories have been pretty good but only a few have really captured me.

I’m also in the middle of A Kiss in Time by Alex Flinn. This is a reread but I barely remembered anything about it so it feels like a first time read to me. It’s alright. I’m starting to feel like Flinn’s male characters are all one note which is not something said often.

What did you recently finish?

Since my last WWW Wednesday was almost 2 months ago, I’m just going to say all the books I’ve finished since my last post and now which honestly is kind of pathetic. /sigh.

What do you plan on reading?

For the time being, I’m not going to put any expectations on myself. I just want to read whatever I feel like and not worry about it. I think trying to plan what I was reading with this and my 2015 reading challenge is what threw me into such an awful slump.

This post is scheduled and I’ll reply to comments and visit your guys’ posts when I get home!

I did not have a good Monday: computer problems, a creepy guy, training that cut into my lunch, my ID not working at the gym, almost hitting a deer on the way home.

Suffice it to say Monday I ate an entire box of mac and cheese and went to bad. Thankfully Tuesday was better and I have high hopes for today. The rest of the week should be pretty great actually so I’m staying positive.

What are you currently reading?

Rereading¬†Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets¬†has been put on hold.¬†Not sure when I’ll be in the mood for it again. Hopefully soon.

I actually started Gone by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge so go me! So far I like it but I just now realize it’s the 6th book in a series. It’s working well on it’s own actually. I’m reading it to complete the “a book your mother loves” bit of my 2015 challenge.

I haven’t gotten anywhere with¬†Neanderthal Seeks Human by Penny Reid¬†because I’ve been having a hard time reading electronically recently. It just hurts my eyes and the words tend to blur. I think it’s because my job involves so much reading on a computer now. I may give up reading electronically for the time being effectively dropping this book but I only got one chapter in anyway.

What did you recently finish?

I’ve only read one book this week but it was a monstrous book at over 500 pages. Also with my new job, I just haven’t really been able to read a lot. I am reading a lot more consistently since I’m on the train again which is nice.

What do you plan on reading?

I think I’m going to try to read The Book Thief by Markus Zusak¬†next and I have Saga Volume 5 out from the library but that will be an easy read. I’m excited to continue that story.

I love my new job! I LOVE MY NEW JOB!!

Okay that’s out of my system. But seriously did I mention how much I love my new job?? The work I’m doing is enjoyable and I’m working for a non-profit so it benefits people. (it’s a medical journal of course it benefits people) and basically I’m so happy. The only things that could make me happier is having more than $15 in my bank account and moving out of my parents house. But both of those things will be accomplished¬†in the nearish future now¬†that I have my ultimate happy goal which is finding a job in my field that I love (and makes p good money).

Sorry. Now to the books. Also as a side note, this post is queued (and probably will be from now on) I’ll reply to comments and comment on other posts on my lunch break or when I get home.

What are you currently reading?

Rereading¬†Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets¬†has been put on hold. I started The Martian and I couldn’t bring myself to read anything else for a while. But I also had a lot of family obligations the end of last week and over the weekend on top of starting my new job Monday.

I’m going to start Zeroes by Scott Westerfeld, Margo Lanagan, and Deborah Biancotti on the train this morning. Or rather, I started it on the train. This post is queued to go up at 8 and my train gets to the station at 8. Anyway!

I also started reading Neanderthal Seeks Human by Penny Reid just as something light and easy to read when I’m not in the mood for heavy.

What did you recently finish?

Since last time I’ve finished two books.¬†Not bad considering everything that has been going on in my life.

What do you plan on reading?

I still want to read¬†Gone by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge¬†soon. It will probably be the next thing I start. I might also see if I can get Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins from the library because I’m craving a cute contemporary and I think that will do just the trick.

So this is my last week jobless and I have to say IT TOTALLY SUCKS. It’s going sooooo slow and I’m so excited to get started that waiting this long is agonizing. It’s nice to get a week of freedom but at this point I just want to work.

But this past week was amazing for me. I got a job and 100 followers!! I’m still super happy and excited.

What are you currently reading?

I’ve kind of stalled on rereading¬†Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Sometimes knowing the whole story and how it goes sucks because I don’t feel rushed to get to how it ends.

I’m also in the middle of Diva by Alex Flinn. Another reread for me but it’s been a long time. The tone for Caitlin is a little grating but I think it’s just because I’m not a teen anymore. This is also a companion novel to Breathing Underwater by Alex Flinn. You can read either or both but if you read both I suggest reading Breathing Underwater first to avoid spoilers.

What did you recently finish?

Since last time I’ve finished two books. Which isn’t bad considering I was laid up in bed sleeping on and off for 5 of the 7 past days.

What do you plan on reading?

I still want to read¬†Gone by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge¬†soon. We’ll see if it happens because I’m trying to read more according to my mood to avoid slumps. I think I’m going to give up on rereading the Lunar chronicles. I read Scarlet and Cress earlier this year so it’s still in my mind at least. I want to start The Martian by Andy Weir. It’s been calling my name on my shelf since I bought it so I might as well heed the call.

I won’t have time to comment on posts until later but I wanted to get this up. Getting my Wisdom teeth out on Friday didn’t go as expected but it wasn’t awful. This experience has been both more and less painful than I expected if that makes sense.

Anyway, today I have an interview at the company I was temping for and it’s a job that’s perfect for me (editorial assistant)!! Wish me luck because I REALLY want (and need) this job. This is also the reason I won’t be able to check out other posts today.

What are you currently reading?

I’m a little ways into A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I’m not really sure on my thoughts for this yet. I need to get further in to see what happens.

I’ve started rereading Breathing Underwater by Alex Flinn. I read this for a class in high school and because of that I didn’t really give it a chance. I hate being forced to read so when I have to read something I tend to already flag it as bad. I wanted to give this another chance now that I’m not really like that.

I’ve kind of stalled on rereading¬†Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Sometimes knowing the whole story and how it goes sucks because I don’t feel rushed to get to how it ends.

What do you plan on reading?

I want to get to Gone by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge soon. It seems like the perfect Halloween read. I still need to start my Lunar Chronicles reread so I’m refreshed on the story before Winter comes out. I do think I’m going to pause my Harry Potter reread for now.

Well it’s been two weeks since my last WWW. Since then my temp position ended,¬†I’ve had an Upper Respiratory infection, I had (imo) a successful interview, I went to the Field Musuem, and I haven’t gotten much reading done unfortunately. The sinus headaches I’ve been having make it almost impossible to read for any length of time. Anyway, hopefully the coming weeks and month will be better. We’ll see since I’m getting my wisdom teeth taken out on Friday.

What are you currently reading?

I really enjoy reading a lot of books at once. I like being able to switch between genres so I don’t get bored of anything too quickly. However I can’t seem to be able to do that recently so I’m just reading two this week.

So originally I got Blameless by Gail Carriger from my library as an ebook but Axis 360 is one of the most useless apps I’ve ever encountered.¬†So I put a hold on a physical copy at my library which I’m now reading.

I’m halfway through rereading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I’m going to reread this whole series and I’m really glad I’ve decided to. It’s been so long since I was able to reread them and I always learn so much when I do.

What did you recently finish?

Since my last WWW Wednesday, I’ve finished 5 books. Which is much better than my last one two weeks ago. Though I did read the two books by Maureen Johnson last night in one 6 hour sitting. They were amazing and once I finished the first book there was no denying me the second since I had it on hand and ready to read.

What do you plan on reading?

I currently have A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas checked out from the library, so I need to read that. I also want to get to Gone by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge soon and I need to start my Lunar Chronicles reread so I’m refreshed on the story before Winter comes out. I’m also going to continue with my Harry Potter reread.

It’s officially my last week at my current job. ūüė¶ I mean, I am just a temp right now so I knew this would happen but the amount of anxiety I have because I’ll be jobless again is crazy. CRAZY. Aside from that my week has been pretty good. I can’t really complain. Hopefully the few job opportunities I have will work out and if not hopefully my temp agency will have another position lined up for me quickly. *knock on wood*

What are you currently reading?

This weeks it looks like I’m back to reading a million books at once. At least it feels that way but I seem to have a short attention span for books. Meaning I read 10 pages of one, 10 of another and so on. It works for me at least.

I’ve actually ¬†gotten a little further withA Really Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. I’m officially half way through it. Yay! ¬†It’s probably going to take me until the end of the year to finish this tbh though. I’m such a mood reader and I’m rarely ever in the mood for non-fiction.

Because of how Changless ended, I immediately got Blameless by Gail Carriger from my library as an ebook. I’m about halfway through and I have some mixed thoughts on it. We’ll see how it goes.

I’ve started the audiobook of The Midwife’s Revolt by Jodi Daynard too. I’m only a few chapters in so I don’t have much to say about it.

I’m about halfway through Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas, too. I have mixed feelings about it so far. We’ll see how it goes.

What did you recently finish?

This week I’ve managed only one book. ONE. How crazy is that??

What do you plan on reading?

Well hopefully I can finish the many books I’m working on. I also want to read Six Impossible Things by Fiona Wood. I currently have it checked out as an ebook from the library so I don’t want to lose it. I think I might also pick up Forever Odd by Dean Koontz. We’ll see.

Thankfully the weather is back to a rightful mid 70s. I’d be happier with 60s but I can’t complain. Anything is better than FOUR 90 degree days in a row. Also, September is in full swing and I’m super excited about all the fall things coming back. Boots and pumpkin spice and colder weather and changing colors. Moving on to the books though~

What are you currently reading?

At this point, I’m pretty sure¬†A Really Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson¬†is on hold. I haven’t touched it in ages. It’s definitely not the speedy read I was hoping for.

wpid-20150720_185007-1.jpgI’m about halfway through Changeless by Gail Carriger. I was a little worried how the dynamic of some of the characters would play out now that there is a relationship change (no names to avoid spoilers of course) but I’m actually really enjoying how it’s going. I do think it’s a bit slower paced than Soulless but Carriger’s writing more than makes up for that.

I’m also reading The Source by J.D. Horn. It’s the sequel to The Line in the Savannah Witching Series¬†and this book is pretty good as well. I think it may suffer a little bit from sequel syndrome but it’s hard not to. I still really enjoy all the characters though Mercy has become a little grating for me.

What did you recently finish?

I’ve been really bad…I’ve only finished two¬†book this past week. I’ve been so crazy busy that I haven’t had a lot of time to read. Plus I’m still kind of slumpy. Books that seemed super interesting and that I really want to read just don’t fit my mood at the moment so I’m at a loss for what to read. Hopefully I get over this soon.

What do you plan on reading?

Well what do you know, the two books I put here for last week are actually the two books I’m currently reading. Take notice
because this isn’t likely to happen again. Lol. I’m thinking I might read Crown of Midnight next. With all the Queen of Shadows hype going around I’m suddenly feeling the need to continue the series. I’m also going to start a Harry Potter reread so I plan on starting The Sorcerer’s Stone. I think I’ll also end up reading the third book in Savannah Witching Series: The Void.

It’s officially September and of course now would be when the weather decides it wants to be in the 90s almost all week. Shoot me, I want cold weather. The heat is only good at the beach. Moving on!

What are you currently reading?

Once again I’m reading only thee books. It’s weird going from reading 6 or 7 books at a time to reading 2-3. I think I hit a bit of a slump but I switched up the genre I was reading and it seems to have helped. I’m still pushing through A Really Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. I like it but small doses.

I just started Ender’s Game by Scott Orson Card this morning. I’ve read the original short story the novel was based off of because of my Sci-fi/fantasy literature course. I had a hard time stopping when my train pulled into the station this morning that’s for sure.

I’m also reading The Line by J.D. Horn. I’m really enjoying this one too. It’s definitely interesting and I can’t wait to see where the concept goes. The other nice thing is that this is a trilogy where all three books are on Kindle Unlimited if you are a part of the program like I am.

What did you recently finish?

Like I said, I’ve been overcoming a slump so my reading is definitely down. I only finished 3 books this past week. :/

What do you plan on reading?

I think I’m going to try to stick with Sci-fi Fantasy books because that seems to be pulling me out of my rut. I hope to read the sequel to The Line called The Source. But that’s only if I end up liking The Line enough to continue the series. At this point I think I will but I’m not 100%. I also think I’m definitely going to be grabbing Changeless by Gail Carriger. It’s been on a few of these but I’ve been putting it off because I want to savor it.

Heyo! How is everyone? Can you believe August is almost over???

What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

For once I’m only reading 3 books this week. One electronically, one I can only read at home because it’s so big, and one regular hardback book. Unusual right?

It’s still slow goings with The Really Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. I’m almost half way through though so that’s good. It’s interesting just hard to read a lot of at once. I do about 10 pages a day.

I’ve finally started Delirium by Lauren Oliver. I feel like this series was all anyone could talk about for ages. I’ve had on my Kindle for a few years actually and I’ve just decided to get to it. So far I’m really enjoying it. I do wish something would happen already. I’m about halfway through and I feel like there needs to be more action.

I’ve also started Girl Online by Zoe Sugg. When I saw this book was by one of my favorite Youtubers I couldn’t not buy it. She taught me how to do basically everything I do with my hair. So far the book is cute. I’m about 2/3 in to it.

What did you recently finish?

I’ve finished 4 books this week. Not bad. I wish it was more but I haven’t had as much time to read as I did in July it seems.

What do you plan on reading?

I’m hoping to read Divergent by Veronica Roth next. It’s another one of those hyped books I’ve never read. I haven’t seen the movie either and surprisingly I know nothing about it so we’ll see how it goes. I also want to read 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson and Imperfect Chemistry by Mary Frame.
